RetailRanked (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates retailranked.net. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from users of the RetailRanked platform (the “Service”) and how we use it. RetailRanked is available only to residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: email address, recovery email, username, password (stored as an irreversible cryptographic hash — we never store or have access to your plain-text password)
Optional profile picture
Portfolio and transaction data you enter: portfolio names and notes, trade history (ticker symbols, dates, share quantities, prices), deposits and withdrawals, and your chosen base currency
Verification screenshots you voluntarily upload to request a “Verified” badge — visible only to RetailRanked administrators, never to other users
Social activity: who you follow, likes, comments, and feed posts
Technical data collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure, such as IP address and browser type

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and operate your account, portfolios, and the public leaderboard
To calculate investment returns, which requires sending ticker symbols, dates, and currency codes (not your personal identity) to third-party data providers
To send account-related emails, such as password resets and email verification
To review verification requests submitted through the platform
To enforce our Terms of Service and protect the security of the platform

3. Third Parties We Share Data With

Twelve Data — receives ticker symbols and dates to retrieve historical stock prices
Frankfurter (European Central Bank data) — receives currency codes to retrieve exchange rates
Resend — receives your email address to deliver account-related emails
Supabase — hosts our database and stores uploaded images (profile pictures and verification screenshots)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Your Controls

You control each portfolio's visibility: public, private trades (still counted on leaderboards), or fully private
You may request verification for a portfolio at any time by submitting supporting screenshots, reviewed only by RetailRanked administrators
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion is permanent and immediately removes your portfolios, transactions, uploaded images, and social activity

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed, subject to any residual data kept in routine backups, which are cycled out over time.

6. Children's Privacy

RetailRanked is not directed at, and may not be used by, anyone under the age of 18.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
